It’s time to face the reality... no more kicking it down the road... your organization just might have a data problem. Maybe it started with a few processes that broke down over time. Maybe someone left and took with them the knowledge of their homegrown data archiving strategy. Maybe manual entry or data manipulation destroyed the integrity of your change management. Regardless of how it happened, it has likely led to some enterprise-wide bad data habits.
A major step on the road to system modernization is the migration to a unified platform, in this case... SAP S/4HANA. While enterprises are prepared to invest in SAP S/4HANA, it’s critical to realize that you need to first invest in your data. You can have the nicest garbage can on the block, but the inside is still trash.

Accurate, complete master data is essential for successful integration of acquired assets into an organization’s new or existing operations and maintenance environments. Whether you're leveraging machine learning, data quality tools/software or a team of data experts, there are some best practices that can help guide data integrity and system consolidation strategy for mergers and acquisitions?
The words we all hear, say and repeat hundreds if not thousands of times as data professionals. Whether at conferences, on webinars or in meetings, keywords like Blockchain, IoT, ERP, Migration and more pop up everywhere, so Team Utopia decided to have a little fun with it.
It’s easy to accept myths as reality. If you hear something enough – it HAS to be true right? I spent most of my lifetime believing (and saying) “Lightning never strikes the same place twice” only to realize my mistake on a tour of the Empire State building when they announced that lightning strikes that building on average 100 times a year. Boy, do I hate being wrong!

Even the smartest IoT technology available is not useful if it cannot be used to help predict assets’ maintenance needs, reliability, and how they should function in conjunction with other pieces of equipment in the larger ecosystem. That means the master data loaded into any system of record as a digital representation of those physical assets needs to be flawless – or your city/state/government will run into some major issues (and costly expenses).
