MUNDELEIN, Ill., April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Utopia Global, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise data solutions and a long-time SAP partner, announced the signing of a global reseller agreement with SAP (NYSE: ). As part of the agreement, SAP will resell Utopia's Master Data Governance for Retail and Fashion Management™ (Utopia MDG for RFM™) solution under the name SAP® Master Data Governance application, retail and fashion management extension by Utopia. This will enable SAP to help its customers better manage their mission-critical article master data, thus helping speed time to market, improve decision support and decrease IT costs associated with master data management.

Utopia's solution provides a governance platform for master data objects specific to the article master, including basic data, classification and purchasing. Additional retail article data such as logistics, listing, sales and point of sale (POS) are covered. The solution integrates with the SAP ERP and SAP Master Data Governance applications and complements the existing domains for material, supplier, customer, finance and enterprise asset management. Utopia's MDG for RFM offering has been developed in the ABAP® programming language and is designed consistent with SAP's architectural guidelines for managing master data, thereby offering integration with SAP ERP. Customers running SAP's industry solutions, SAP Merchandising for Retail and Wholesale Distribution,  SAP Fashion Management or both, will be able to take advantage of this modern approach for governing the data lifecycle for the article master.

"Customers using SAP Merchandising for Retail and Wholesale Distribution and SAP Fashion Management need a unified single source of trusted information about their article master," said Arvind J. Singh, CEO of Utopia Global. "For retailers with already thin profit margins, traditional challenges with managing articles puts customers at risk with slower new-product introductions and an inability to accurately communicate article information beyond the enterprise for trading partner synchronization and collaboration. The key to managing and avoiding these costly challenges is to have business processes and dashboards running on reliable article master data across all locations in an enterprise. Our solution enables organizations to maintain the integrity of mission-critical article data with real-time governance, thus helping to improve operational effectiveness and agility to respond to rapid market changes and economic conditions affecting consumer purchasing behavior. This responsiveness and decision making, via significantly improved data integrity, can ultimately save our customers tens of millions of dollars a year."

Utopia's MDG for RFM is now available to customers globally from SAP as SAP Master Data Governance, retail and fashion management extension by Utopia.

"We are pleased to offer the Utopia MDG for RFM solution as an SAP offering, which will help address an urgent customer need," said Achim Schneider, global head, Retail Industry Business Unit, SAP.
