Senior Vice President, Consulting Services
Mr. Ernie Dacho is the senior vice president of consulting services at Utopia. In this role he leads the strategic Enterprise Data Lifecycle Management™ (EDLM™) practice, which he co-founded, and works closely with the sales, pre-sales, project management office, and Human Capital Management (HCM) teams. In addition he assists leaders at Fortune 500 corporations develop EDLM strategies and implement roadmaps within their organizations. Mr. Dacho has over 20 years of experience in the areas of data migration, data quality management improvement, and the SAP® Business Suite.
One of his many noteworthy recent accomplishments was implementing SAP Master Data Governance and its solution extension for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) at a major oil and gas company in western Canada. This project included both standard data objects (e.g. vendor and material), as well as, custom EAM objects (e.g. equipment, functional locations, and bills of materials). Another notable achievement was being the “Day 1” project lead for the information technology integration of a $15B acquisition. He has been involved in or led over 40 mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and corporate restructuring.
Prior to joining Utopia, Mr. Dacho was the enterprise data management expertise leader at a Fortune 50 multi-national manufacturing company. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing enterprise master data stewards, central enterprise data management systems globally, as well as, the integration of SAP Master Data Management NetWeaver® and IBM® Infosphere™ IIS within the enterprise.
Mr. Dacho believes that data is the lifeblood that enables efficient and effective business processes. “Data growth is exploding exponentially and companies are recognizing the need to manage data, but are challenged as to where to begin,” states Dacho. He enjoys working with motivated customers to put an actionable plan and roadmap in place that is linked to their corporate goals and enables them to manage and govern data as an asset.
Mr. Dacho’s ultimate goal when working with you is to deliver business value through the creation of realistic customized solutions that considers your company’s culture, current capabilities and leverages related experiences gained at other organizations and industries. He finds it important to share these experiences and does so by contributing to the ASUG Data Governance Special Interest Group as well as through Utopia’s webinars and blog.
Mr. Dacho holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, he is a registered professional engineer, a Project Management Professional (PMP®), and holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. When Mr. Dacho is not resolving enterprise data problems he enjoys photography, spending time with his grandchildren, and international travel. Recent favorite vacation destinations include Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Turkey, and Greece.
