Jim has extensive experience in developing and institutionalizing data architectures, principles, models and strategic plans for large IT organizations. His experience consists of instituting standard compliance for enterprise data governance, data stewardship metrics and tracking for Fortune 50 corporations. Additionally, he has developed and implemented enterprise-wide multi-data object, centralized master data management applications to support four ERP instances and a global data warehouse.
Jim had an extraordinary 20+ year career with the Dow Chemical Company (Dow). In his last position held with Dow he was the Enterprise Data Architect. Throughout his career he has had many successes the following are a few highlights.

In one instance he designed a centralized, standardized and consolidated business process and tools for managing service level agreements that reduced the enterprise application support budget by 25%. By doing so he kept the application portfolio size flat over a period of 3 years while the enterprise grew by $12B through mergers and acquisition (M&A) and joint venture activity.
Additionally, he established an enterprise metadata repository, metadata standards, best practices and methodologies in data analysis design and modeling. He is savvy in the creation and maintenance of corporate data models for shared strategic data objects that were leveraged across the enterprise. Jim has a portfolio filled with numerous examples of his accomplishments and achievements. His success record continues to flourish with Utopia as a true innovator and implementer.
Jim is a graduate of Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan where he received a BSBA degree in Management Information Systems.
