Co-Founder, President & CEO
Arvind
was most recently the CEO of Value Communications Corporation (ValuCom),
a company he founded in 1996. Under his leadership, ValuCom grew
to be one of the most recognized brand names in the prepaid telecom
space in the US. The company was bootstrapped from inception and
remained profitable in all its years of operations. ValuCom was
successfully merged with Rediff.com (NASDAQ: REDF) in 2001.
Arvind began his career in Marketing with IDM (an IBM
spin-off in India). He also spent several years with Hewlett Packard
internationally (at Emitac, Dubai), managing and developing some
of their largest accounts in the Middle East. Post MBA, Arvind worked
in various brand and senior management positions at Kraft Foods,
Inc. where he was responsible for strategic planning, P&L targets,
advertising and business development. He successfully launched several
new products, some of which won the highest award for Superior Achievement
from Philip Morris. He led brand teams for several large businesses
at Kraft, including a flagship brand with revenues exceeding $1
billion and marketing spending exceeding $200 million.
Arvind has an MBA from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA
in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He also has an MS from the Birla
Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani, India. He
is a certified instructor in innovation and problem solving techniques.
He speaks fluent Hindi, Punjabi and some Arabic.
